Sneak Peek Into My Book: RED FIST

Tell me what you guys think! I’ll be releasing  more sneak peeks on RED FIST before my September launch (Fingers-Crossed)! So keep up. Also, stay tuned for the final Chronicle in the Senoj series for a while.

The knife drops from my neck and I twist around to see someone I hardly recognize. Something inside me splits open like a coconut. A crushed shell, my head diverges in two halves. My brain pulses, and I understand something, and that knowledge of what I’m seeing shanks me, letting loose a realization, a consequence that I had forgotten.

Devin looks frail, and a lot smaller than I remember him. His dreads are gone. He’s a skinhead now, and his head seems much larger now that I’m seeing it for the first time. I don’t want to ask, but I need to know if what I’m seeing is my fault.

“What happened?”

He finally looks up at me. His brown eyes are sunken and sleep deprived, boiling like dark coffee.

“A lot. Ever since you disappeared, ever since the hospital. I can’t remember anything now.” He knocks himself upside the head with his free hand as if he’s trying to knock his own brains out. “But sometimes when I think this potato can’t remember anything. It remembers…it sees you…it says your name: Levi.” He spits out my name through his teeth like it’s a bad omen.

I feel obliterated. I don’t say anything.
